Reagan Cannon is an international speaker and coach who spent more than 20 years in corporate America, leading teams of more than 10,000 people globally. She has a passion for leading and developing leaders.
“Be courageous, be the person,” she says. “Move forward when you’re still nervous and insecure and afraid and move forward anyways. And then eventually, you do it and you do it and you do it, and you get … really confident.”
Reagan was an ambitious young girl, even at the age of 11, when she decided to become a certified Red Cross babysitter in order to make more money. She created a “marketing campaign” of sorts, using sticky notes and nickels to make photocopies of her message.
Later in life, Reagan learned that women often get stuck in middle management roles due to their lack of relationships in the workplace, and she partnered with a researcher to confirm her hypothesis. Through her research, she found that women need to learn how to use relational courage in order to build relationships and advance their careers.
In this episode, you will learn:
- How women can become more confident and strategic in the workplace.
- What the “Manila Folder Tactic” is and how can it be used to increase confidence.
- How women can use questions to challenge their bosses while remaining professional.
