What Makes the Excell Experience a Different Financial Advisor Conference?

What Makes the Excel Experience a Different Financial Advisor Conference

Excell isn’t like every other financial advisor conference.

It’s more than an event. It’s an experience centered on community.

We’re not content to just fill the conference agenda with breakout sessions and call it good – we work to make sure our sessions cover every aspect of the advisor space (not to mention a few outside of it). We craft a lineup of can’t-miss speakers for our keynotes and pack the schedule with networking opportunities so you can make meaningful connections that last beyond the weekend.

But that’s not all that makes Excell different. Let’s break down what goes into making the Excell experience so special.

The Speakers

You don’t want to hear from the same speakers on the same topics each year. We get it. At Excell, we work to mix industry thought leaders who have fresh ideas with powerhouse national voices who cover much more than financial planning.

Though you won’t be able to make it to every breakout session on the agenda, our outstanding lineup of keynote speakers will cover today’s top trends and the hottest topics inside and outside of financial services. This September, you’ll get to hear from:

  • Abby Wambach: The two-time Olympic gold medalist, FIFA World Cup champion and six-time winner of the U.S. Soccer Athlete of the Year award is also an activist for equality and inclusion and the author of the No. 1 New York Times bestseller “WOLFPACK.”
  • Michael Pollan: The New York Times bestselling author and host of the Netflix series “Cooked” and “How to Change Your Mind” will deliver a compelling keynote that covers the importance of revolutionizing the way our world’s food supply operates and the sustainability of agriculture.
  • Garrett Gunderson: The bestselling financial author and comedian delivers a unique style of comedy that laughs at money’s expense. Garrett aims to teach through entertainment and help people transform their finances into a better relationship with money.

The Longevity

This is our 37th Excell conference. We’ve done this before. We know what works and what doesn’t, and we tailor each conference based on your feedback – dating back to the very first Excell in the conference room of an Omaha hotel.

We’ve come a long way since then, and we’ve grown Excell into a three-day experience designed to help you and your team change for the better.

The ‘Extras’

There’s a lot more to appreciate at Excell than just our lineup of speakers. We’ve assembled a Community Hub that we’ll leave you with no shortage of ways to fill your time between breakout sessions, with features like:

  • The Next Chapter: This bookstore will feature the works of Excell speakers and guests, plus events like book signings, meet and greets and Q&A sessions. And that’s not to mention the full-service barista.
  • The Advisor Tech Awards: You can stop by each booth at the Advisor Tech Expo in the Community Hub to learn more about each nominee, then use the Excell app to vote for your favorites across three categories – biggest disruptor, best value and best in show.
  • The Expo Hall: We’ll have more than 60 booths to visit, awesome swag, special giveaways and more – you’re sure to find a new solution to any of your firm’s hurdles.
  • Podcast recordings: We’ll have hosts recording episodes in front of the Expo Hall crowd – including Carson’s own Framework podcast – plus we’ll host live panel discussions, tech demos and more on the center stage.
  • “Focus” breakfasts: Every day at breakfast, we’ll have dedicated tables set up for discussion on specific topics, like marketing, technology, investments and M&A.
  • Closing night reception: End your Excell experience in style with a poolside bash to close out the event.

The Venue

The Cosmopolitan is one of the premiere hotels in Las Vegas, and with two pools, a casino and sportsbook, a full-service spa and more than 25 world-class restaurants, you shouldn’t have any trouble finding something fun to do before, during and between sessions. If you haven’t already booked your room, Excell attendees can secure a discounted rate – rooms are limited, so don’t hesitate.

And, of course, the fun doesn’t stop at the Cosmo’s doors – we’re in Las Vegas, after all. There are countless shows, concerts, NFL football, world-class restaurants and all the glitz and glamour Vegas has to offer. You could even extend your Excell trip and turn your visit into a vacation.

The Connections

With more than 1,000 attendees, you’ll have the chance to meet advisors from all facets of the industry – from next-gen talent looking to take the next step in their career to billion-dollar advisor-CEOs who have been there and done that.

You’ll be able to connect with industry leaders in tech, marketing, compliance and other areas during our complimentary meals, at Excell’s opening and closing receptions and in our Community Hub. Our keynote speakers are leaders in the industry, the country and the world at their crafts.

And once Excell is over, you’ll be able to stay in touch with your new connections as part of the Excell Advisor Community on LinkedIn.

Experience the Excell Difference

So yeah, there’s a lot that goes into making Excell different from other advisor conferences. But seeing is believing, so register yourself and your team so you can experience the difference.
